Bodhrans

 Bodhrans

The Glenluce instruments are made in Pakistan, with a solid wood rim, and natural goat skin. Despite the low price, they are extremely reliable and the skins stay on well. The makers have developed the range and listened to input from players, and this has resulted in some great sounding new Bodhrans.

Waltons bodhrans are made in Dublin by that long established company, and those by Malachy Kearns are handmade in the West of Ireland. Both are very reasonably priced for genuine Irish instruments. The skins are goat, held in place with a strip of wood under the tacks, giving a very neat appearance. Michael Vignoles makes stout drums with good quality Irish made goat skins. Orkney based Eoin Belgarth makes the best bodhrans we have ever played, a must have.
